If you are at the point of giving up on the yo-yo dieting and are ready for a true lifestyle change when it comes to your eating habits, the Sonoma diet is for you. In my opinion, it is by far one of the best diet plans on the market, and is worth every penny you put into it.

Like the Mediterranean diet, the Sonoma diet relies heavily on the consumption of fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and even wine. However, the Sonoma diet goes a step further and places a great emphasis on eating super foods. Super foods are food that have been studied and are known to have tremendous benefits on the human body. These foods are almonds, bell peppers, blueberries, broccoli, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes, and whole grains. There are in fact, several more of these super foods, but these are the foods that the participants of the Sonoma diet are encouraged to eat.

Another similarity between the Sonoma and the Mediterranean diet is that both promote healthy weight loss and do not resort to starvation or extreme food-limiting techniques like some weight loss programs today. The Sonoma diet is also known for having a very colorful and tasty menu, as is the Mediterranean diet. Having such an array of available foods and recipes at your fingertips proves to be very beneficial and it eliminates most, if not the entire common boredom factor.

There are really only two things that I can say anything remotely negative about this diet. The first is 3-phase ploy. Many people are aware nowadays that the phases popular diets are promoting are just marketing schemes, nothing more. A diet such as the Sonoma diet does not need a strict first phase to be effective. Secondly, if you are looking for a diet that will not break the bank, then the Sonoma diet is not for you. Although I believe it is worth all the money you will spend, the foods you need to purchase for this diet are pricey. Many come from health food stores or the like.
