Master Cleanse Diet
The Master Cleanse diet, also known as the Beyonce Diet and the Lemonade diet, is a short term fast that promotes rapid weight loss by eliminating pounds of excess toxic materials built up in your system. The Master Cleanse diet serves as a fast and a cleanse, so it should be monitored to ensure safety, especially when it comes to starting a solid food diet again. The recipe is as follows:
2 TBSP of fresh lemon or lime juice (approximately ½ lemon)
2 TBSP real maple syrup (the genuine syrup, not the processed sugar syrup)
1/10 TSP Cayenne Pepper
Water (whatever temp is best for you) spring or purified recommended
Combine the juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper in a 10oz glass and fill with water. The author of this diet, the late Dr. Stanley Burroughs also suggests that you drink a laxative tea morning and night. Alternatively, you could try the salt-water wash in the morning and drink the tea at night. This method works just as effectively.
If you are not familiar with the salt-water wash, these are the simple guidelines. If you follow it correctly, it does work just as it is supposed to.
Add two level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt to 1 quart of lukewarm water. Drink the quart of water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (this is key). Your system will be sparkling clean within 1-2 hours.
There are many benefits of a cleansing program such as the Master Cleanse. Not only does it thoroughly cleanse the system and promote health and healing, a detox diet such as this has been shown to have a profound affect on digestion, mental clarity, regularity and even acne. Naturopaths around the world recommend cleansing and detox diets for not only maintaining good health, but for curing and preventing disease as well. So essentially, the Master Cleanse is really not a diet at all but a cleansing routine that everyone should take advantage of. Anyone that knows anything about cleansing and detoxifying knows that weight loss naturally happens during the process of body cleansing.
