Fat Smash Diet
Of all the diets I have reviewed, I have to say that the approach taken in the Fat Smash diet is one of the best. This diet was designed to help people succeed at long term weight loss and weight maintenance, not just overnight crash dieting success. This diet takes real life into account and provides room to adjust the diet where necessary. It is a refreshing change from the strict low-carb high fat diets that are so popular today. I love the fact that Dr. Ian Smith even gives dieters tips and suggestions for the tough situations that prohibit most dieters from staying on track. It is a real life diet for real people and I admire him for it.

The Fat Smash results have been outstanding. It is broken down into four phases: the detox, foundation, construction and temple. The Fat Smash diet starts where any good diet should, with a detox diet to rid the body of toxins and impurities. This is an essential step that many diets fail to include. The detox phase in the Fat Smash Diet book is 9 days long and is very strict. In addition to the strict detoxification phase of the diet, there is also 30 minutes of cardio exercise recommended five days per week.

From this point on, all of the phases are built on one another. Foods are slowly introduced and strict guidelines are lessened. In particular, the second and third phases deal with food quantities. These lessons equip dieters with the wisdom and confidence to know when to say when. This give the dieter ultimate control of the diet, but it is still in a guided format. The final phase is meant to be a maintenance phase. However, Dr. Smith does a good job of showing dieters how and where to go back in the diet to lose some quick pounds in the case that they fall off the bandwagon. This is one of the most unique things about the diet; it has the most flexibility I have ever seen.
