Finally, a diet that makes sense! It is very mind-boggling to me that people spend so much time jumping from diet to diet. Fad diets are nothing but bogus promises and quick fix weight loss schemes. What people need is a path that leads to a healthy lifestyle and the Dr. Oz diet is just that.

I have done a lot of research over the years about the weight loss industry and the food industry. The facts are very disturbing to say the least. If people only would grab a hold of the fact the food industry is somewhat responsible for obesity in this country, maybe people would begin examining the foods they eat more closely. For example, did you know that high fructose corn syrup was designed to make you and keep you fat? The same is true for diet sodas. The Dr. Oz diet suggests that people take a look in their pantries and refrigerators and eliminate five very unhealthy ingredients, all of which I agree with 100%. They are hydrogenated oils (and partially hydrogenated oils), sugars, high fructose corn syrup, enriched and bleached flours.

By eliminating many of the processed and chemically altered foods that we ingest everyday, along with eliminating just 100 calories per day, people are able to sustain a healthy weight. Our foods today are so laden with chemicals and man-made junk it is downright scary. I challenge you to look in your cupboards and count how many items you have in your home that contains any of the five forbidden ingredients. I dare say almost all of them will have one or more of them. In fact, it is very hard to go to the supermarket today and find foods that have not been altered in some way. The food industry is worried about one thing and that is profits, not the health of the people.
