Beyonce Diet
The news has been out for quite some time now. In fact, it was even featured in Woman’s Day Magazine; Beyonce shed the pounds on the master cleanser a.k.a the lemonade diet. And for this reason, it now has a new name, the Beyonce Diet. What is interesting about this diet is that it was never intended as a diet in the first place. Holistic practitioners have been using this cleansing drink for many years to detoxify and cleanse the body. The fact that it does just what it says and more is what gives it its claim to fame.
The Beyonce Diet is simply put, a short term fast that promotes rapid weight loss by eliminating many pounds of excess toxic materials built up in your system. The Beyonce Diet is a fast, so it should be monitored to ensure safety, especially when it comes to starting a solid food diet again. Lets take a look at the recipe.
2 TBSP of fresh lemon or lime juice (approximately ½ lemon)
2 TBSP real maple syrup (the genuine syrup, not the processed sugar syrup)
1/10 TSP Cayenne Pepper
Water (whatever temp is best for you) spring or purified recommended
Combine the juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper in a 10oz glass and fill with water. The author of this diet, the late Dr. Stanley Burroughs also suggests that you drink a laxative tea morning and night. Alternatively, you could try the salt-water wash in the morning and drink the tea at night. This method works just as effectively.
If you are not familiar with the salt-water wash, these are the simple guidelines. If you follow it correctly, it does work just as it is supposed to.
Add two level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt to 1 quart of lukewarm water. Drink the quart of water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (this is key). Your system will be sparkling clean within 1-2 hours.
Whether or not the Beyonce Diet is more than just hype, as it relates to an actual diet remains to be seen. However, it does indeed work to detox and cleanse your system. And anyone that knows anything about cleansing and detoxifying knows that weight loss in the process is inevitable.
